Car Insurance Plymouth (Car Insurance). Is pulling in the clutch halfway while going through tight woods bad for it?

Is pulling in the clutch halfway while going through tight woods bad for it? I have a yz 125. It is geared for racing but I gotta go through like 150 yards of tight trees with no real path. That the only way to get to the track by bike and I don't have my license for a truck yet. So anyway I just hold in the clutch like halfway and drive through those 150 yards! It stalled really easily if I don't! It takes like a 20 minutes to get through the woods. Is that bad for anything on the bike?

It prematurely wears on the clutch friction plates, but that's how you ride an off-road bike. Pin the throttle, modulate power with the clutch. So you'll be replacing it sooner or later anyway. Don't worry about it, a clutch pack is ~$30 and takes just a few minutes to replace. Yes it is bad for the clutch, ride the bike in first gear through the woods. Just put-put and save the clutch. No, motorcycle clutches are designed to slip, they are wet clutches. You shouldn't slip them constantly for long periods, but there is no comparison between a dry clutch in a car. Cars with automatic transmissions are similar, and they too slip quite a bit when changing gears. You can barely drive a 2 stroke motorcycle without slipping the clutch quite a bit, or the engine will stall. It made for it, just don't do anything too crazy. If it takes you 20 minutes to go 150 yards, how about spending 40min with a machete ? Unless they aren't your trees :-)

Plymouth . How to Replace the Serpentine Belt in a Chevy Cobalt

The Chevy Cobalt has one drive belt, called a serpentine belt because it winds around different engine accessories. Chevy recommends checking the drive belt for wear every 15,000 miles or 24 months. Newer Chevy Cobalt models have the popular auto-adjusting belt system. This guide refers to the newer Chevy Cobalt models from 2005-2007. Check your model year for specific information.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack stands
Tire iron
Wrench or open-ended wrench
3/8-inch ratchet tool or breaker bar
Replacement belt

Step by Step :
1
Raise up the front of the vehicle and support it on jack stands. Use the tire iron to loosen the right front lug nuts.
2
Remove the right front wheel and the lower fenderwell splash guard. Find the belt tensioner pulley which is located near the crankshaft.
3
Note the belt routing so that you can install the new belt correctly. If you can't find a belt routing diagram under the hood, make a sketch for your reference.
4
Use the wrench or ratchet to rotate the tensioner and relieve tension on the belt. For 2.2L and 2.4L engines, use a 3/8-inch ratchet tool or breaker bar that goes into the tensioner bolt head. For 2.0L engines, use an open-ended wrench.
5
Remove the belt from the tensioner pulley. Release the tensioner. Remove the old belt from the rest of the pulleys and install the new belt according to your belt routing diagram.
6
Rotate the tensioner pulley again to allow the new belt to slip onto the tensioner pulley. Make sure the belt is fully seated on all pulleys.
7
Release the tensioner. On the 2.0L engine, it's important to release the hydraulic tensioner slowly. Replace the splash shield and wheel and lower the vehicle. Tighten the right front lug nuts.
Tips & Warnings
Never work under a vehicle that is not securely supported.

Plymouth . How to Replace the Serpentine Belt in a Chevy Silverado

A serpentine belt is an important part of any engine. The serpentine belt is so-called because it generally runs multiple accessories and "snakes" around under the hood. On a Chevy Silverado, the serpentine belt drives the alternator and other aspects of the vehicle: Generally, the V6 model will have one serpentine belt for all components, while the V8 may have a separate belt for the air conditioner compressor.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Wrench or breaker bar
Replacement belt

Step by Step :
1
Find the auto-adjusting belt tensioner pulley. The belt tensioner can be located using a belt routing diagram, which you should find on the radiator support.
2
Use your wrench or breaker bar to rotate the bolt on the belt tensioner to release tension on the belt.
3
Slip the old serpentine belt off of the pulleys and take it out.
4
Use the belt routing diagram again to route the new belt. If you can't find a routing diagram in your documentation, or under the hood, you can use the Dayco product site where belt routing diagrams are in hyperlinks next to the belt description. Enter make, model and year to get the right routing diagram.
5
Rotate the belt tensioner again to allow the belt to be fully installed.
6
Make sure the belt is well seated on all of the pulleys.
7
Run the engine and observe to make sure the belt is installed properly.
Tips & Warnings
This guide is based on a limited range of model years. While most Chevy Silverado models have the same self-adjusted tensioner system and a very similar belt routing, check model specifics to make sure you have the right tools and parts for your Chevy truck and the correct methods for installation.

f you think about tires only when it's time to buy new ones, you need to / think again. The right tires in the right condition can enhance your driving experience and make it safer. In fact, your brakes and your tires have a two-way relationship: Poor braking action results in increased tire wear, but properly balanced and aligned wheels and properly inflated tires in good condition can help stop your car up to 25 percent faster! There's also a strong correlation between tire inflation and tire wear. If your tires are underinflated, the outer treads wear out faster. If your tires are overinflated, the centers of the tread areas go. And if the wheels get out of alignment, your tires can wear out in as little as one day of hard driving! So to get more mileage from your tires, plus better braking action and a smoother, quieter ride, you ought to know a bit about buying, checking, and maintaining the tires on your vehicle. In this chapter, I tell you about the kinds of tires available. (You can buy different types and grades, and just as you wouldn't wear your finest shoes to the beach, you don't want to put the most expensive, long-lasting, high-speed radials on an old car that just goes back and forth to the shopping center.) I also tell you how to check your tires and how to "read" your treads for clues about how well your car is performing — and how well you're driving. If these clues show that you need to have your wheels balanced or aligned, or your tires replaced, I provide enough information for you to be sure that the work is done the right way for the right price. 3 OS Part "l: Kee P'n9 Your ^ar in 6ood Condition, System by System You don't have to do much (in terms of physical labor) with this chapter, so just find a comfortable place to read, relax, and enjoy. For information about how to change a tire, see Chapter 1. Tire Construction

Every tire has several major parts (see Figure 19-1): u0 The tread is the rubber part of the tire that gets most of the wear and tear. The tread patterns help the tire grip the road and resist puncturing. These patterns are also excellent indicators of tire wear. I get into reading these clues later in this chapter, in the section called "Checking your tires for wear." V The sidewall is the part of the tire between the tread and the bead. The section called "The Secrets on Your Sidewalls, Revealed!" later in this chapter decodes all the useful data molded into the sidewall of a tire. v* The bead is a hoop of steel wire that's shaped to help hold the tire onto the rim of the wheel. V* The casing (or carcass) is the body of the tire, located beneath the tread and the sidewalls. It helps the tire keep its shape when inflated, instead of letting it blow up like a balloon. The casing is made up of various materials, called cords. v* The belts are also made up of cords, which are coated with rubber and located between the body and the tread. The type of material used for the belts, and the way it's wrapped around the bead, determine the kind of tire and its price. Originally, cotton was used for the cords, but it soon gave way to better materials, such as steel, aramid (which is harder than steel)7fiberglass, polyester, rayon, and nylon. Steel-belted radials are the most popular type of tires today. v* The tire valve lets air into and out of a tire. The valve core prevents air from escaping. Each valve should have a valve cap to keep dirt and moisture from getting into the tire. Until recently, tires came in a variety of constructions. There were bias-ply tires, which featured cords wrapped around the beads at overlapping angles. These were superseded by bias-belted tires, which were constructed in the same manner as bias-ply tires but featured belts of another material that wrapped around the tires' circumference, providing longer wear, puncture resistance, and more directional stability. Today, all vehicles come fitted with radial tires and, because all but the oldest vehicles run well with them, bias-ply and bias-belted tires are no longer readily available. .Chapter 19: Checking Your Tires, Alignment, and Steering Figure 19-1:
